Papier collé (French for pasted paper) is a painting technique and type of collage. With papier collé the artist pastes pieces of flat material (paper, tissue, newspaper,etc) into a painting. This form of art uses shreds of mixed media to produce the effect of actual paint, layered on the canvas. Paint is added in addition to the other media, but still maintains multiple planes and multiple viewpoints in these works of art.
Sandra has prepared these acrylic painted papers to be used in a papier colle painting.
